Staff Survey Studies
A staff survey study is a survey administered to staff members for the purposes of research.
Staff survey studies require research ethics approval.
Staff surveys administered for purposes other than research do not require research ethics approval, and proceed as per local organisational governance arrangements.
In Beaumont Hospital, staff survey studies are reviewed by the research ethics committee.
Staff surveys conducted for the purposes of clinical audit, service evaluation etc. are registered with the Beaumont Hospital Clinical Governance Department - see Beaumont Pathway for Audit and Service Evaluation (drafted BH Ethics)
Staff surveys conducted for other purposes e.g. organisational planning, meeting legislative requirements proceed separately as per needs of the organisation.
